The main objective is to provide affordable housing options close to urban centres, ensuring easy access to amenities and opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria and Payment Plans
Priority will given to families with an income of less than 60000 per month, those living in rented accommodation, and those below the poverty line. Homeowners are not eligible for this program.
Each apartment is estimated to cost around 1.5 million rupees. To make these houses more accessible, the Punjab government is offering a 60% subsidy. This means that families only need to pay a 40% down payment, with the remaining amount paid in installments.
Targeted Cities for Apni Chat Apna Gher 2024
The program will initially focus on the following six cities in Punjab:
- Multan
- Burewala
- Bhakkar
- Bahawalnagar
- Bahawalpur
- Khanewal
- Dera Ghazi Khan
- Hasilpur
- Layyah
In the first phase, the construction will begin in Lahore, with 5000 apartments planned for Raiwind Road. After the completion of construction in Lahore, the program will expand to the other five nominated cities.
